Kevin serves as Executive Vice President of Wealth Management for Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust, where he has led the Wealth Management team since joining in 2010. His vast credentials include Chartered Financial Planner (CFP®), Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA), and Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA). With nearly 30 years of experience in financial planning, investments, and trust administration, Kevin is able to utilize his extensive knowledge of Wealth Management services to help his clients prepare for the future with confidence. Whether a client’s goals are to see the world, give back to the community, or to provide their family with financial security, Kevin’s approach of dedicated personal service and expertise can help customize a comprehensive asset and investment management plan to suit any client’s needs.

SVP, Personal Trust Officer
As Senior Vice President, Tammy is responsible for managing trusts, estates, IRAs and investment accounts at Community Bank & Trust. Tammy has over 25 years of wealth management experience and started at Community Bank in 2011. She attended Upper Iowa University where she received a bachelor's degree in business administration and earned her Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation in 2011 from Canon Financial Institute.
Debbie Hummel
Trust Operations Assistant
Debbie has over 40 years of banking experience and has been with Community Bank & Trust since 2000. She joined the Wealth Management & Trust Department team in 2013. Debbie assists the trust officers with the daily tasks of the department and provides assistance with the retirement benefit plans.
Laurel Thompson, RSSA®, PPC®
Planning Solutions Specialist
Laurel serves as Planning Solutions Specialist with over 15 years of experience in the banking industry. She has extensive knowledge on a variety of financial planning concepts to assist clients with longer term goals. As a Registered Social Security Analyst, she has in-depth understanding of this complex system and can help clients work through the numerous rules to help maximize this benefit. She also specializes in the numerous retirement plans which the bank serves.
Andrew Messerschmidt, CFA
Assistant Vice President, Investment Officer
As an assistant vice president, investment officer for Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust, Andrew works with clients by managing their investment portfolios, as well as security research and analysis. As a member of the investment group, Andrew works to provide ongoing due diligence of investments, as well as management of our preferred equities and mutual funds. Andrew received his bachelors degree from Augustana College and his MBA from Western Illinois University. In 2019, he earned his designation as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Chloe Felling
Investment Officer
As an investment officer for Community Bank & Trust, Chloe works with clients by managing their investment portfolios. She works to provide ongoing due diligence of investments, as well as management of our preferred equities and mutual funds. Chloe joined Community Bank & Trust with nearly 10 years of financial service experience. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in statistics from the University of Northern Iowa.
Austin Hermsen
Wealth Management Assistant
Austin joined CBT in 2020 as a Community Banker while finishing his Finance Degree at the University of Northern Iowa. Recently a graduate, he is now furthering his career path with CBT as our Wealth Management Assistant, helping our Trust Officers with their day-to-day tasks. Austin grew up in Dyersville, IA, he enjoys watching sports and boating with friends and family.
