People You Can Bank on Spotlight: Phil Nash

Phil Nash recently joined the Community Bank & Trust team in October of 2023 as Vice President of Commercial Banking. He offers clients nearly 15 years of banking experience, 12 of which were spent in commercial and middle market banking with Wells Fargo. He possesses extensive expertise in commercial and industrial lending, along with a strong background in commercial real estate financing, having served clients across diverse company sizes, industries, and ownership structures.

The Cedar Valley already has a robust and tenured team in Bob Seymour, Mary Pabst, and Tina Hummel. Phil’s experience and network will serve to boost their current momentum and growth.

Phil grew up in south central Iowa and graduated from Iowa State in 2008. He moved to Waterloo with his wife Kellie, a Waterloo native, in 2012 and they have raised their 2 sons and 1 daughter here ever since. When he is not working, Phil enjoys traveling with his family and participating in all the school activities they are involved with. 

Phil is vested in growing and improving the Cedar Valley community. He is actively involved with:

  • Grow Cedar Valley: Ambassadors, past member of advisory committee
  • Cedar Valley Catholic Schools: Auction committee, advancement committee, youth baseball club administrator, youth activities board
  • INRCOG Revolving Loan fund
  • Waterloo Rotary Club: Past President
  • Junior Achievement Volunteer

Phil is a 20 under 40 winner, CVLI alum, and chaired the capital campaign that successfully built a new teen center for the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Cedar Valley.
